I was recently at my sister in law’s house. They moved out of the Phoenix metro and I found myself with plenty to photograph.

Because deserts are frequently associated with the death of living things, I thought it would be nice to shoot these images in black and white.

I love how the black and white photographs accentuate the rain from the clouds in the distant.


What is interesting is seeing the internal carcass of dead cacti. They are almost human looking in their decomposition.
