This is the second canvas I have completed in 2020. It’s a much smaller canvas compared to the first painting of the year but I think it is quite photogenic and so I wanted to immediately share. I wasn’t certain if the painting was done. It came to me really fast. I completed it in less than two days.
It is 24 x 18“ in size. It was a canvas given to me by my wife and daughter for my birthday. I only got to it recently. We’ve had a bit of a cold spell here in St. Louis making it very hard to work in my back half of my garage where I have set up a little studio for painting. It’s been averaging roughly 48° in there for a few weeks. Therefore, the various materials I apply to the canvas take too long to dry to do an adequate layering of paints.
I was missing painting too much so I drug out a space heater and that has gotten things up to at least about 58°. It’s been a bit more workable in there so Ta da we got number two of 2020, acrylic with a polyurethane coat.
